LeapFILE Client Service

Hi Everyone,

As I'm sure you're aware, there has been an exploit ("Heartbleed") discovered in certain versions of the OpenSSL cryptographic software library that could allow anyone on the internet to read the memory of a system using one of these versions. This is a BIG exploit, and we at LeapFILE definitely understand your concern over the security of your data.

We're happy to inform you that LeapFILE is NOT affected by the Heartbleed exploit, although due to the severity of this issue, we're going to strongly suggest that you change your LeapFILE password if you use the same password anywhere else on the internet (In fact, you should probably change all of your passwords everwhere.)

Also, someone was nice enough to put together a tool that you can use to test sites for this vulnerability - just go to http://filippo.io/Heartbleed/ and enter the address of the website you're concerned about, and it will let you know whether everything's OK or not!

http://filippo.io/Heartbleed/#secure.leapfile.com for instance!

Thanks for using LeapFILE!

Hi All,

As a side effect of our capacity upgrade process, the IP address for exchange.leapfile.com has changed from 72.32.222.238 to 72.32.175.248 - if your firewall rules use the domain name, you're already all set, but if you're using the IP address, you'll need to change your rules to reflect the new address.

If you're not opening any holes in your firewall for LeapFILE, you're also already all set, so nothing to worry about!

 Thanks for using LeapFILE!

Hi All,

In response to some inquiries into password security here at LeapFILE, we've made the decision to keep your data even safer by enforcing stricter password requirements for new users. This doesn't affect you if you're a current user (although it's always a great idea to change your password regularly, and keep them complex!), but it will affect any users signing up from this moment on, and anyone changing their password from this moment on.

 The Rules:

Your password MUST have at least 8 characters, one upper case letter, one lower case letter, and one number - special characters are optional, but highly recommended, and make sure that it's not easily guessable, or on a post-it note under your keyboard!
